In most of the cases the investor requires you to first apply for Freedom Loan Modification but once you have been declined for it the process is pretty conventional:

  1. To initiate the short sale process with Freedom we will have to place a call to Freedom Mortgage and talk to their councellor.
  2. Freedom Request for Mortgage Assistance form will be required to be complettely filled along with the supporting documents and finances.
  3. Property valuation will have to be required by Broker’s price opinion (Certain Investors Require Two Interior Inspections)
  4. Terms will have to be negotiated with Freedom Loan Servicing about Short Sale Fees And Costs To Be Paid Out Of The Seller’s Proceeds.
  5. Lender Provides A Response To Short Sale Offer Made.

Whoever who has been through the short sale process with Freedom Mortgage will know that they are not easy to deal with. A lot of turmoils have to be faced. Often we have gotten on the phone with a Freedom Loan for one of our Customers where we are given the run arround. They can be very difficult to work with and making matters worse is their rude agents on the phone. When dealing with a Loan Servicing where the people on the phone make you feel like they don’t care getting a straight story can be difficult with your Freedom Mortgage.

Freedom 1 Star Review:

Payoff department is incompetent.  Letters received with charges that are incorrect.  Call department, errors acknowledged, but charge a fee to send corrected letter.  You have to pay them to fix their own mistakes!! OR….pay the wrong amount and hope they refund the mistaken charge!!!

BEWARE of this lender, service provider! I inherited them like most of you, but if you have the choice run far. They recently changed my escrow up by $700 claiming due to tax and insurance. However, they decided to charge me late fees since my payment was short by $700 due to automatic withdrawal from my bank. However, they refused to post my payment and charge me the entire balance. When I spoke to their rep they refused and said that it was their policy. They even reported me to credit agencies which subsequently killed my rating. I’m in process of reporting this bank to BBB and suggest you all do same.

Freedom 1 Star Review:

Freedom Mortgage bought our loan and they are a complete mess. Their departments do not communicate with one another and you have to call several times to figure anything out. They say they will do things that they don’t follow through with. They haven’t been applying the extra money we’ve been paying to the following month’s payment or to principal. We are in the process of trying to figure out where it is being applied. We’ve had several random $15 “payment fees” when we’ve only ever paid by check or online and even had 2 of those fees in the same day. We are paying $2000 over into our escrow per year and they refuse to lower our monthly payment. I wish there were a zero stars option, they don’t deserve even one.
