We somehow ended up with this fraudulent collection agency when Penn Financial turned over our mortgage to them. They withdrew over $700 from our escrow to pay city property taxes and my city never received the payment. To complicate matters, our house was built on the existing plot of my neighbor’s home, and the city has not yet split our plot into two properties. Shellpoint did not do this research and came up with a figure on their own. They sent us a letter finally admitting their mistake but after 90 days, they have still not returned the $700 to our escrow. Our closing attorney and original mortgage lender has been trying to settle this on our behalf but the dopes at Shellpoint are not responding. My husband and I have excellent credit scores, live in a desirable community and have high income with steady jobs for the past 30 years. I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau CFPD, and Shellpoint Compliance called me the next day and we resolved the issue over the phone. Waiting for documentation.

I have never left such a bad review before for anything but for this company I can only say STAY AWAY PLEASE. Do yourself a favor If you have to get a mortgage loan slit your throat before you ever sign with this company . They do not care about anyone or anything but there money That is no compassion for the customer and no customer service The knowledge of there help is horrible. The pass you from one customer service person to another They make everything hard and frustrating. When we had the hurricane in Florida and we were called a natural disaster area they had no idea and did not care about you not having electric or not being able to work. There was no 3 month extension allowance. All they wanted to know is when they are getting their money or there will be a foreclosure started to take your house . No one in their offices knew how to do anything but to tell you to hold on when you call for a question Please do yourself a favor. DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY !!!!!!! Honestly , if there was an option to enter ZERO I would. Horrific customer service in general. You can never speak to anyone that provides accurate information or even get through. As i type this, I am waiting 14 minutes already to speak to someone. If you ever need to escalate a call, they flat our refuse and tell you they will “email a supervisor” and they will call you back. Never happens.
